St. Petersburg is not only the cultural capital of Russia but also the largest port in the Baltic Sea. St Petersburg Sailing week is usually held in mid-August, and Maritime Festival is its central event which takes place on the territory of the famous Peter&Paul Fortress. Participants of the festival will show the spectators the skill in managing a fleet of sailing yachts and also perform staged sea battles. Each visitor can also take part in the adventure game, talk to the veteran mariners, see an exhibition of photographs, and listen to a concert and learn more about the city by the sea.
