There aren't many places to stay in the old part of town, whereas most of the places in the new part of town are intended for business travellers and are far from all the attractions. However, we've chosen a couple of places that are cenrally located and offer decent accommodation.

About
Located in a beautiful wooden house which once belonged to the sister of the famous Russian writer Ivan Kuprin, the guest house offers budget accommodation in the centre of Kolomna. The house is still residential. The guest house owns only 3 rooms on the 1st floor. All 3 rooms are spacious and have a minimum of furniture. Fold-out sofa comes instead of a bed. The place is indeed very unpretentious as the original home decors have not survived. There’s a shared kitchen and shared bathroom. If you want to stay in what was once Ivan Kuprin’s room, ask for the biggest room overlooking the cathedral, it should be the one.
The location is hard to beat. It is the only hotel which is located right inside the kremlin walls of Kolomna, across the square from the centuries-old Dormition Cathedral.

It may look like a business hotel with all rooms being similarly equipped yet its location on water is very unusual for business hotels. The 4 star hotel stands on a platform on the Moskva River 5-minute walk from the Pyatnitsky Gates of the Kolomna Kremlin. Turn left as you walk outside the gates, and continue down the street until you see the bridge, turn right before the bridge and you'll see the hotel. The rooms are spacious and bright, the ones overlooking the river are even more so. There's a sauna and a small swimming pool downstairs, as well as a nice restaurant with excellent river views. Most of the Kolomna attractions including the kremlin are only a stone's throw from the hotel.

Restaurant has great views over the river. The food is predominantly Russian with French and Italian twists. Seafood and fish are particularly good. Try their excellent pancakes with salmon and caviar and Russian fish soup ukha served with salmon pastry.
