About
One of the few hotels in the centre of Murmansk, new Azimut hotel offers clean and modern rooms with great views over the city, and the location which is impossible to beat (it's literally right on the central square of the city). Formerly known as 'Arktika', it is the tallest building beyond the Arctic Circle (although it's only 18 floors), and one of the symbols Murmansk. In Soviet years, 'Arktika' was capable to house over 1000 people at the same time, and was the most famous hotel in town where famous Soviet scientists, Arctic explorers and writers used to stay. Today, 'Arktika' is a part of a Russian hotel chain Azimut which reopened in 2014 after several years of renovation. The hotel currently occupies 2nd floor (where the reception, the lobby, and the restaurant are located), and 12-16 floors where all rooms are located. The top floor was given to a panoramic bar, the ground floor is occupied by several cafés and souvenir shops, and the rest is given to the office centre. If you're not going to spend much time in the city, 'Azimut' is definitely the best in terms of location. You can easily walk to the port, the railway and the bus station, the supermarkets, the restaurants, and most of the museums, most of them are located 3-10min walk away.

The hotel is located on the central Five Corners Square, in what appears to be the tallest building in the city. Locals know it as 'Arktika', it's the previous name of the hotel, and a current name of a business centre located on the first floors of the building. The railway and the bus stations are just 3 min walk from the hotel.

Breakfast is included in some of the rates. For the rest it costs 600RUB per person, and can be paid for on spot. Buffet breakfast is served from 7 until 11am. The restaurant is located next to the reception on the 2nd floor. Otherwise, Deli Café on the ground floor offers porridges, omelettes, etc. from 8am on.
Rooms: 186 rooms of the hotel are located on the top floors of the building. There're excellent panoramic views over the city from all sides. There're standard rooms, more spacious junior suites, and apartments. The design is the same everywhere.
