About
A new boutique hotel in Sergiev Posad openly only in August 2015 but has already become one of the most loved places in town. Located above a very popular restaurant with the same name, Russky Dvorik Hotel stands right across the road from the Trinity Lavra gates. There're only 5 rooms, each dedicated to a famous Russian who lived, stayed or wrote about Sergiev Posad. There's a cozy Chekhov room which looks like a room in a Russian estate of the end of the 19th century. A cuckoo clock on the wall, a comfortable armchair, a large secretaire, an antique lamp casting green light over the table, a row of Chekhov's works, old photos of Chekhov in the frames. Another room is dedicated to Alexander Kuprin, a Russian writer who often stayed in Sergiev Posad and wrote about it in his stories. A large portrait of a man in a Tartar skullcap and a cunning look gazes from the wall. There're purple cushions and richly ornamented wallpapers on the walls reminding of Kuprin's Tartar heritage. Rachmaninov's room on the other hand is pale blue with a big gramophone on the table and a collection of Rachmaninov's concerts on vynil records. Both Prishvin and Shalyapin rooms overlook the Lavra. Mikhail Prishvin was not only a celebrated Russian writer who lived in Sergiev Posad but also an avid hunter. There's a big fireplace, hunter's trophies on the walls, and a woody scent of a log cabin in the forest. Shalyapin suite is the largest of 5, it has a bedroom and a living room with big mirrors, crystalware and heavy draperies. Just like the famous Russian opera singer would have liked it.
Themed breakfast is included in the rate. They serve it from 9am until 11am at the restaurant downstairs. Choose your breakfast and time when you want it the day before and let the manager at the reception know. There're 5 types of breakfast named according to the names of the room. All types of breakfast include freshly-squeezed juice, a pot of tea, fruits, fried eggs or omelette, porridge with berries in Rachmaninov breakfast and with Dagestanian lamb in Kuprin's, cheese, yoghurt, and a dessert. Opulent Shalyapin breakfast comes with prosecco and caviar. Rachmaninov breakfast is suitable for vegetarians.

The hotel is located in the centre of Sergiev Posad, on its main street, and across the road from the main gates of the Trinity Lavra. You'll see a traditional Russian house with rich wooden decorations, and a brick-coloured building adjacent to it. Enter from Krasnoy Armii Avenue, where the wooden porch of Russky Dvorik Restaurant is located. Once you're inside the restaurant, turn right and then left. Open the door in front of you and you'll see the stairs. Go one floor up and you'll see the reception of the hotel.
