THE BLACK CAT
ЧЕРНАЯ КОШКА

About
Chyornaya Koshka (or The Black Cat) café is like an oasis with good vibe and modern cuisine among monastery canteens and Soviet cafeterias which thrive around Pskovo-Pechersky Monastery. A black cat actually lives there, and usually hangs around in front of the restaurant. It's also the only place in town which has menu in English, and has a separate menu for vegetarians and vegans. And they have a special section wth Seto cuisine which is extremely rare and hard to find. You can also try Russian food here but a more modern and better presented version of it. Russian pancakes, sweet dumplings vareniki, apple baked with honey and nuts, hot and spicy Russian drink sbiten are all great and well worth trying.
There's a souvenir shop in the same building selling a good variety of toys, ceramics, gingerbread, etc. made by local artisans.
