TO EAT
MATRYONA TEA HOUSE
ЧАЙНАЯ "МАТРЁНА"

About
A small café and a teahouse may look a bit kitschy but only in a good way. It's an excellent option in the centre if you want to relax after a long museum day, and try authentic but not too bizarre Russian food. The pies, pancakes, soups and salads are equally delicious, the staff is very friendly, and the service is fast. The place is very popular with locals who got tired of ubiquitous sushi and pizza restaurants, and crave for simple and tasty Russian food.
Note that the entrance to the café is located on the Revolyutsii St. (ул. Революции) just off the Lenin Square.

The food is the fusion of Russian, French, and Italian cuisines with unusual touches. Although the service is not very efficient, the food well-worth the wait. Everything they serve is delicious, and reasonably priced. Don't miss their excellent berry-and-honey tea prepared in various combinations.
On weekdays from 12 until 3pm, the restaurant serves delicious set lunches. The lunch consists of a soup, a salad, a main course, and a drink which cost 330₽ altogether.
